Direct answer

Short answer

This website is an independent marketing and connection service, not a plumbing or HVAC contractor, with no technicians employed and no contracting licence held. When you submit a request, an independent local business receives it, evaluates the property, sets its own scope and price, and performs any work you authorise under its own agreement with you. The business may pay the site for a valid request. You are never charged by this website.

How the website may be paid

A participating business may pay the site for a customer introduction, accepted appointment or other marketing service. The website does not add a separate connection fee to the customer through the request form.

Your choice of service business

You are not required to hire a connected business. Confirm identity, credentials, insurance, written scope, price, schedule, permits and warranty before authorizing work.

Who is paid by whom

Most connection sites leave this part vague; it is stated directly here instead. The customer pays nothing to this website, not a connection fee, not a subscription, not a markup added to the work. The independent business that receives a request may pay this site for receiving it. The entire commercial relationship stops there.

What that arrangement does not do is give this site any interest in what you are then sold: no share of the work, no involvement in the scope or the price, no ability to influence either. The separation is why the site publishes what a complete proposal should contain and how to compare two quotes. Advice that would be against the interest of a business that profited from the size of the job.

What a submitted request is, and is not

Submitting the form records what you need so that it can be acted on. No appointment, diagnosis, price, response-time commitment, or determination that you qualify for any incentive or rebate comes from that alone. Every one of those comes from the independent business that attends, directly, in writing, before you authorise anything.

You are under no obligation at any point. Declining a quote costs nothing, and you may stop the process at any stage.

Who performs the work, and who is responsible for it

One business handles all of it. A participating independent business confirms availability, evaluates the property, proposes scope and price, performs the work you authorize, obtains permits for its scope and honors its warranties.

An independent local plumbing or heating business, under its own licence, its own insurance, and its own agreement with you, does the work. Nobody at this site inspects it, verifies credentials, supervises the job or guarantees outcomes. If something goes wrong with work performed, the agreement is with that business and that is where the remedy lies. Keep that agreement in writing.

Telling us is still worthwhile. A business that repeatedly falls short of the standards published on this site should stop receiving requests, and that can only happen if we know.

What happens to your information

Very little gets kept. A request is stored so it can be acted on and is deleted automatically 400 days after submission by a scheduled task that runs daily. Your IP address is never written to the database, only a one-way hash of it, for abuse prevention, and no browser user-agent string is stored at all. You can request a copy, a correction or earlier deletion at any time without giving a reason.

If your request has already been passed to an independent business, that company holds its own copy under its own privacy practices. Deleting our record does not delete theirs. Ask them directly, and we will tell you who it was.

Things this site deliberately does not do

Being explicit about the limits is more useful than a reassurance.

  • It does not describe itself as a contractor, or use language implying employed technicians or vehicles
  • It does not promise arrival, response times or availability
  • It does not publish review scores, ratings or testimonials for any named company
  • It does not sell placement, ranking or inclusion in its comparison content
  • It does not hold a Google Business Profile, because a lead-generation business is not eligible for one
  • It does not charge the customer anything, at any point
Frequently asked questions

Common questions

Do I pay anything to this website?

No. There is no charge to you at any point for submitting a request. The independent business that receives it may pay this site for a valid request. That is the entire commercial relationship, and it does not add anything to what you are quoted.

Does the referral fee make my job more expensive?

No share of the work, no involvement in the scope or price, and no ability to influence either: this site has none of that. Whatever the business quotes is between you and them, and you are free to get other quotes. The site publishes how to compare them precisely so you can.

How many companies will contact me?

The intent is that a request goes to a business suited to that job, town and urgency rather than being broadcast. If you are contacted by more parties than you expect, or about anything other than the request you submitted, tell us: that is outside what you consented to.

Can I ask which company received my request?

Yes. Ask, and you will be told. Knowing which company also matters if you later want your record deleted, because that company holds its own copy under its own privacy practices.

Is this a directory or a review site?

Neither. Inclusion in the comparison content is not sold, no review scores are published, and the order companies appear in carries no meaning. What it is instead: a connection service with independent comparison content alongside it.

Can I withdraw my request after submitting it?

Yes. Ask for the record to be deleted and it will be: no reason required. If it has already been passed on, we will tell you to whom so you can ask them as well.
