Short answer
This is an independent marketing and connection service for plumbing, heating and cooling work in Greater Burlington, not a plumbing or HVAC contractor. No technicians work for it, no vehicles carry its name, and it holds no contracting licence. An independent local business evaluates the property, provides the scope and price, and performs any work you authorise under its own agreement with you.
Built around the problem you need solved
Real services organize the site. That means frozen pipes, sewer backups, boilers, heat pumps and air conditioning. Customers find useful information and request help quickly.
A network, not a single truck
The professionals who evaluate and perform work are independent local businesses. Different specialties, fuels, equipment and communities get covered under one useful regional resource this way.
Local content with original sources
Every fact links to its source. Vermont incentive, credential and safety information is linked to the issuing program or agency and shows a review date. Town pages reflect the property and system differences found across the area.
What the network adds
If a business is not doing the work, the only thing it can legitimately offer is better information than the alternatives, and that is what this site is built to be. Three things follow from that.
First, every fact that can change carries the date it was checked and a link to the organisation that issued it. Incentive amounts come straight from Efficiency Vermont, Burlington Electric and Green Mountain Power's own pages, not from a summary. Third-party rebate summaries were checked against the primary sources during this build. Several disagreed with them.
Second, nothing here invents a price. Every competing cost page in this category derives numbers from national averages that were not measured in this market, then presents them with a precision they do not have. What is published instead is the scope a complete proposal has to cover and the fields that make two quotes comparable, which is the part a customer genuinely cannot work out alone.
Third, the content is written for the specific conditions here: a cold climate, a housing stock with plumbing running through unheated spaces, a service area split between municipal water and private wells, and delivered fuel across most of the rural towns. A national template does not know any of that.
Editorial standards
Research, drafting and consistency tools may assist in producing this content. Final say belongs to a person, not a tool. Every page is reviewed before it goes live, and factual claims about outside organisations are traced to that organisation's own material. A page that cannot be supported gets pulled, not softened.
Specific things this site will not do: publish review scores copied from a review platform, present an availability claim it cannot verify, imply an affiliation with a company it names, create a Google Business Profile it is not eligible for, or claim a physical service location it does not have.
- Facts that can change carry a visible review date and a link to the issuing source
- No copied review scores, star ratings or testimonial claims about any named company
- No invented prices, response times or availability promises
- Company names identify businesses being compared and imply no affiliation
- Corrections are made promptly on request, from anyone
Corrections and accountability
If anything on this site is wrong or out of date, including anything about a named company, write to corrections@burlingtonvtplumbinghvac.com, and it gets checked against the source, then corrected or removed promptly. A business that finds an inaccuracy gets something cheaper than a lawyer to use.
Data handling stays just as plain. A submitted service request is stored so it can be acted on and is deleted automatically 400 days later by a scheduled task. Your IP address is never written to the database, only a one-way hash of it, for abuse prevention, and no browser user-agent string is stored at all. Access, correction or earlier deletion can be requested at any time without giving a reason.
What the network is not
Not a contractor. Not a directory listing that anyone can pay to appear in. Not a review site, and not a lead broker selling the same request to as many buyers as will take it. No physical office serves customers here, no crew, no trucks. No Google Business Profile exists either, because a lead-generation business is not eligible for one and creating a false profile would put the entire asset at risk.
Common questions
Is Greater Burlington Plumbing & HVAC a contractor?
No: a local service network instead. Independent plumbing and HVAC businesses evaluate and perform work under their own agreements.
What area does the site serve?
Greater Burlington, Chittenden County and nearby northwest Vermont communities listed on the service-area page.
How is the service supported?
Participating businesses may pay for customer connections. Details are available in the service network disclosure.
Do you charge me anything?
No. There is no charge from this website for submitting a service request. Whatever the business that attends charges is agreed between you and them.
Who actually does the work?
An independent local plumbing or heating business, working under its own licence, insurance and agreement with you. Confirm which company is attending, and its credentials, directly with them before authorising work.
Why don't you have a phone number listed?
No phone number is listed on purpose. Publishing one would imply somebody is standing by to answer it, and this site does not make availability claims it cannot keep. The request form records what you need and what is happening; the business that responds confirms timing directly.
Why is there no Google Business Profile?
Google's eligibility rules do not permit a lead-generation business to hold one. Creating a profile with a virtual address or a pretend service crew would breach those rules and would put the whole site at risk. Organic search, citations and partnerships are the legitimate routes instead.
How do I know the information here is accurate?
Every fact that can change carries the date it was checked and links to the organisation that issued it. Where that is not possible, we say so plainly instead of hiding it. If you find something wrong, the corrections route is published on every page that names another company.
Do you sell my information?
A request is shared with an independent local service business so that it can be acted on. That is the consent you give when you submit it, specific to your request, not blanket marketing consent. The full wording, what is stored and how to have it deleted are published in detail.
